We have pledged our support to the National Housing Federation’s (NHF) campaign to tackle homelessness by making a commitment to refer anyone at risk.
This week, Reside joined other housing associations around the country in signing the NHF’s Commitment to Refer to make a public statement together that we are serious about stopping homelessness.
Since October 2018, public bodies have been obliged to refer anyone who is homeless or threatened with homelessness to a local authority as part of the Homelessness Reduction Act. But housing associations are not part of this and were keen to support the Act so the NHF developed the Commitment to Refer as the housing associations’ offer as its first step and will build on this as its work on homelessness develops.
