Community Support Grant helps autistic people

RWP is part of Progress Housing Group, which has donated £460 from its Community Support Grant to the Lancashire Autism Peer and Self Advocacy Service (LAPSS). It provides much needed help to autistic people and those still waiting for diagnosis.
The Community Support Grant donation will be used to fund various activities, equipment and trips around Lancashire to help autistic people in the area to engage with others and reduce isolation.
Daniel Hall, Service Manager for Cloverleaf Advocacy which manages LAPSS, said: “We are really grateful that our Lancashire Autism Peer and Self Advocacy Service (LAPSS) has been granted £460 from Progress Housing Group.
“Autistic people are no longer engaging with their communities the way they did before the pandemic, especially with the cost of living crisis. We want to help them take the next steps ‘back into the world’ in ways that are affordable for them.
“Funding from Progress Housing Group will help us do just this, resulting in reduced feelings of loneliness and anxiety.”
Diane Nash, Progress Involvement Manager, said: “We are thrilled to donate this money to a fantastic organisation which will have a positive impact on the community.
“We are happy to support more great causes and encourage other groups to apply for similar funding.”
Community Support Grant
The Community Support Grant is part of Progress Housing Group’s Community Investment Fund and is available to groups and charitable organisations to develop projects which will benefit our tenants and communities in areas where Progress Housing Group has properties.
