Supported Living Improvement Coalition

“This group is led by people with lived experience, their relatives and carers. It’s structured in this way so that people can tell their stories and look at ways improvements can be made across supported living,” says Annette.

“The coalition has representatives from advocacy groups, care providers, Clinical Commissioning Groups, local authorities, and housing providers.  The emphasis is about people in supported living owning and leading these meetings.

“The theme of the meeting was ‘citizenship and communities’. We heard stories from people with lived experience. We discussed how we can protect individuals’ rights to be heard and to ensure people have person-centred choice and control over their home.

“These meetings will run until at least December 2022 and we would like more people with lived experience to join the Supported Living Improvement Coalition.

“If you would like to join the group or have consent from someone who has experience of supported living to advocate on their behalf, we want to hear from you.”
