Brighter communal space in Sutton

Latest news

RWP caretaker, Nigel, has been working on an exciting painting project at one of our supported living schemes in Sutton, South London.

Our caretaker Nigel has been busy painting the common room to freshen up the space. Now support staff and tenants have somewhere light and airy to enjoy social activities and relax.

It was a big job and everyone was excited to see it taking shape. ”The staff and tenants were popping in from time to time to take a look!” says Nigel.

“It took me four days, from start to finish. It needed a second coat and there was a lot of filling and prep work to do,” explains Nigel. He is really pleased that everyone is enjoying the room. “For me, it’s always nice to do a job where you can see you’ve made a difference. Everyone who uses the room will appreciate the work that’s gone into it.”

The support staff and tenants are really impressed with the painting, saying, “it looks so much bigger” and “so much brighter”.

Vicky Hudson, Support Manager at Choice Support, feels that the improved communal space has had a positive impact for tenants. “Having the communal space redecorated has really made such a difference to the environment,” she says. “The people here are enjoying socialising in the space more than ever. It looks larger and more welcoming. We can’t wait to host more social events and parties in there!”
