Have your say about the joint Complaint Handling Code

Latest news

Do you want to have your say about the complaints process with the Housing Ombudsman?

It is making some changes, and together with the Local Government and Social Care Ombudsman, it is launching a joint Complaint Handling Code. The Complaint Handling Code is a way of checking that any complaints you report are sorted out properly and in good time.

You can have your say in the consultation survey. This will help to improve social housing landlords and councils' complaint handling services, which are provided to over 28 million homes.

It will also help people to have a better experience of reporting a complaint across housing and important local services.

The aim of the Complaint Handling Code is to sort out complaints quickly and for organisations like RWP to learn and make improvements for tenants. It also acts as a guide for anyone that wants to complain because it clearly explains what they should expect to happen.

You can take part in the survey and share your views on:

  • The Code and how to make it better
  • The ideas for ways to check compliance – and whether these are transparent, proportionate and fair.

The consultation will run from 28 September 2023 to 23 November 2023.
