Meet Vicky

Vicky has recently moved into Annear Place, our new supported living scheme in Nottingham for people with a mental health condition.

Vicky, 53, is happy with her room and has enjoyed getting settled. “I like my room, it’s spacious. I’ve got a nice walk-in shower too,” she says.

Vicky had a very close relationship with her mum and lived with her until she passed away in 2021. This triggered Vicky’s mental health decline and she spent a year at a mental health facility in Nottinghamshire.

The social work team at Nottinghamshire County Council referred Vicky to the support provider FitzRoy at Annear Place.  After a successful initial assessment, it was arranged for Vicky to move in. She is under the care of the Community Mental Health Team who visit her regularly.

Kimberley Cockram, Fitzroy Area Manager, describes Vicky as a very sociable person. “Vicky values her independence and we will do all we can to help build her skills to live independently”.

Vicky is keen to take up volunteering and get involved in her local community. “I would like to work at a foodbank or a charity shop!” she says.
